The Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research (LICR) is an international organization with an outstanding reputation in cancer research worldwide. LICR has conducted research in Melbourne, Australia for over 30 years, in basic and translational oncology areas. These new Laboratory Head positions are located at the LICR Melbourne-Austin Branch, which is moving into dedicated new research facilities in a Comprehensive Cancer Centre at Austin Health in 2012.
We are seeking to recruit two outstanding Ph.D. Scientists with an Internationally recognized track record of research in cell biology or signalling pathways in cancer to establish new laboratory programs in our Institute.
The successful applicant(s) will work within a dynamic environment of scientists and clinicians who have research programs in tumour biology, immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry and cell biology. The LICR Melbourne-Austin Branch has a strong focus on translational research, and the new Laboratory Heads will be expected to contribute to this research effort.
LICR will provide an attractive salary package, relocation benefits, a start-up research funding package, and ongoing core laboratory support. Laboratory heads are expected to raise external funds to support their research.
The successful applicant(s) will also have an academic appointment with the University of Melbourne, and the opportunity to develop close collaborations with Australia's leading medical research institutes, and LICR’s international research sites.
