Development of novel strategies for protein
micropurification/proteomics and biosensor analysis
We have had a long term focus on the development of novel methods for the micropurification
of proteins and peptides for structure-function and proteomics studies, and in the development
of biosensor methodologies (using the BIAcore,
IAsys and
Cytosensor methodologies)
to measure protein-protein interactions and for ligand fishing. These methods have been applied
to the study of a number of receptor ligand systems implicated in cancer (eg
EGF/EGFR family, the haemopoietic CSFs eg G-CSF, GM-CSF) and their
down stream signalling pathways.
Biosensor curves for the binding of soluble EGF receptor ectodomain to immobilized rhEGF at different
concentrations. From this data, the rates of association and dissociation can be determined.
